Dio Oakley
Dio joined Music Haven in 2014, in middle school, and quickly established himself as both a skilled musician and a dedicated advocate for the arts. While a sophomore in high school, Dio won the 2nd Annual New Haven Chamber Orchestra Solos Competition. He then majored in Music Performance at Western Connecticut State University and is currently working for the Department of Education in Stratford, CT. While in college, Dio continued his involvement with Music Haven as a Social Media Manager.
2017 HIA Rehearsal
This is a video from April 2017 in which Dio is featured. It was taken during the Harmony In Action (HIA) rehearsal. HIA is Music Haven's advanced student orchestra. HIA students meet weekly for rehearsals and present numerous concerts around New Haven throughout the year. HIA students also take part in many student-led community-based projects, as planned through their monthly dinner nights, and an annual retreat.
