Piano Recital: Love in Bloom

Join us at Music Haven for a solo recital by Resident Pianist Jacob Wang, featuring an evening of exquisite piano music inspired by love and flowers. The program highlights beloved classics like Rachmaninoff’s Liebesleid (Love’s Sorrow) and Chopin’s luminous Barcarolle alongside hidden gems, including Nathaniel Dett’s romantic and wistful Magnolia Suite and Manuel Ponce’s tender Estrellita.

Joining Mr. Wang for this special evening is faculty member Patrick Doane (violin) in Fritz Kreisler’s elegant and nostalgic Three Viennese Dances. The program will also feature two of Mr. Wang’s students, Yohvani Cruz and Legend Dyer (piano), in a charming performance of Fauré’s Dolly Suite.

Experience a night of passion, lyricism, and musical storytelling as we welcome spring in full bloom.

Chamber Series: Music in Stillness

At this exciting and thought-provoking HSQ concert, you’ll hear three pieces that contemplate stillness, nature, uncertainty, and beauty: Mozart’s String Quartet in C Major, K. 465, “Dissonance,” a study in ambiguity and joy, Mason Bates’ From Amber Frozen, a modern work that fuses elements of electronic music with orchestral textures, and Golijov’s haunting Tenebrae, a piece inspired by Jewish liturgical music that explores themes of darkness and light.
